WASsERLEBEN, the interactive show for the public, which has been taking place at Wasser Berlin International since 1993, has been recognised for its contribution to the UN decade of education for sustainable development.

For the second time in the run-up to Wasser Berlin International Messe Berlin and Berliner Wasserbetriebe extended an invitation to Ambassadors’ Day. 11 ambassadors and numerous high-ranking diplomats from around the world took the opportunity to gain an insight into ’water expertise’ in Berlin and to gather for an informal meeting afterwards.

For the first time, along with Berliner Wasserbetriebe, the project team of Wasser Berlin International extended an invitation to attend the Ambassadors’ Day on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds and to visit the water treatment plant in Ruhleben and the International Club Berlin on 16 September 2014.

The management changeover also involved Wasser Berlin International, a trade fair for capital goods, coming under the supervision of the MS (Mobility & Services) Competence Center, with Matthias Steckmann as its director.

Over 2 billion people live in countries experiencing high water stress and about 4 billion people experience severe water scarcity during at least one month of the year[1].

With the foundation of the Regional Section North America and its merger with the Regional Section Mexico, German Water Partnership (GWP) expands its international activities to North America and concretely pushes ahead with initiations of business in the region.

Between 23 and 26 April more than 31,000 professionals from all over the world visited WBI 2013 to find out about innovative products, adapted services and individual approaches in all fields of water management. The network of the export-oriented German water management and research, German Water Partnership (GWP) presented itself together with 20 member companies very impressively at a joint booth and at the diverse supporting programme.

On 30 January 2013, Stefan Girod, Managing Director of German Water Partnership, died prematurely at the age of 48. Still utterly inconceivable to most of us, he passed away unexpectedly. For all who knew him, his death came as a blow out of nowhere.

For a long time rainwater was regarded as wastewater rather than a resource. Along with dirty water from households and industry it was fed into the sewage system and from there to water treatment plants.
